As our Small Business Advisor, Anita will be continuing to answer your questions about running your small business, but will also help Community Merchants USA bring the most interesting and useful content to you through our constantly growing website.
Anita is one of the country’s top “small business experts,” and is the Founder, CEO and Executive Editor of Small Business Trends, an online publication geared towards small businesses, providing information, breaking news, and advice regarding issues of importance to small businesses. Small Business Trends reaches over 6 million small business owners annually, and has won Forbes “Best of the Web” distinction for small business blogs in 2005 and 2008. She is also the CEO of BizSugar.com, a social site for small businesses and B2B content. Anita has been included on 3 of Forbes women in social media lists. These include: 25 Most Influential Women Tweeting About Entrepreneurship, 20 Best-Branded Women on Twitter and 30 Women Entrepreneurs to Follow on Twitter.
Along with running multiple websites, Anita has been a member of a variety of boards including the Advisory Board for NorTech, the Advisory Board for NEOSA and the Vice Chair of the Advisory Board for the Center for Information Technology and eBusiness at the University of Akron, where she is also a part-time instructor. In 2011, Anita released her co-authored book entitled Visual Marketing: 99 Proven Ways for Small Businesses to Market with Images and Design. She is a frequent speaker at conferences and summits and has been quoted in numerous publications such as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Fortune.
