Getting to Know You – Our Experience during National Small Business Week
The word is quickly spreading about the valuable tools and resources available to small business owners at CommunityMerchantsUSA.com. Since our launch on June 17th, we’ve begun reaching out to local merchants not only online, but in the very communities where they live and work.
Last week, the U.S. Small Business Administration held National Small Business Week events in five major cities from coast to coast: Seattle, Dallas, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Washington, DC. And at each event, Community Merchants USA representatives were there to talk directly with local merchants.
No matter where we were in the country, the feedback we received was consistent and overwhelming: businesspeople have been looking for a resource like CommunityMerchantsUSA.com to help them better understand and leverage their options within the world of electronic payments.
We met new business entrepreneurs interested in learning about “Payment Processing 101,” as well as existing businesses interested in comparing card processor rates or learning about the latest innovations in mobile processing technology.
Many business owners were impressed that Visa, MasterCard and other EPC member banks had launched CommunityMerchantsUSA.com as a resource specifically for them and suggested it would become a valuable tool in their success.
We will continue reaching out to small businesses through a variety of local forums and events throughout the summer and into the fall, so stay tuned for more information.
Finally, on a personal note, I had the pleasure of addressing a roomful of talented, energetic and resourceful small business owners at the National Small Business Week awards dinner. I couldn’t help but be inspired by each of the honorees and congratulate each of them on their many successes.
